In March I was invited to Arizona for an Onco’Zine Brief radio interview on psychosocial support for children of a parent with cancer and my book 13 Diamonds — Life Before Death from a Child’s Perspective. This amazing experience taught me once again how scary it sometimes can be to share a very personal story, especially for such a large audience! But it also reminded me how incredibly rewarding it feels when I really get to do it. I believe there is so much power in sharing our stories and letting people know they are not alone in difficult situations. Even though it is hard at times, I am proud I get to be the one to give insight in a child’s mind when cancer strikes a family, and by doing so, offer support and strength. Hopefully, my story inspires others to share — we are all in this life together.
